Purpose

The Manager/Director of Export Compliance is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the Baylor Export Control compliance program. The position will provide training and guidance concerning export controls issues to faculty and staff. Specific issues include, but are not limited to, sponsored programs, research endeavors, physical exports, deemed exports, technology exports, international travel, international shipping, and cross-departmental communications. The position is also responsible for drafting and maintaining consistent and accurate information, such as policies, procedures, training materials, and on-line resources, to drive export compliance across the University. This individual would serve as the University’s “Empowered Official” with respect to matters subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Depending on the qualifications, education, and experience of the selected candidate, this position may be filled at either the Manager or Director level.
