BACKGROUND: The Department of Communication has twenty fulltime faculty members (13 tenured and tenure-track and 7 lecturers), approximately 415 majors, and 120 minors. We offer the M.A. in Communication, are home to the nationally visible Glenn R. Capp Debate Forum, and sponsor a summer study abroad program based in London.

Responsibilities

We seek a faculty member specializing in health communication. Preference will be given to candidates with a research agenda situated within health information technology, social media, social influence, health and wellness programs, health promotion campaigns, health literacy, or risk/emergency communication. Additionally, we are looking for a faculty member who can develop undergraduate and graduate courses in health communication, and teach required courses in our department including communication theory and organizational communication. Candidates should possess a strong background in quantitative or qualitative research methods, and should be willing to apply for external funding. This faculty member should be willing to direct graduate theses.

Required Qualifications

The Department of Communication invites applications for a tenure-track position in Communication at the Assistant Professor level beginning Fall 2018. A Ph.D. in Communication is required in hand by the start date.
